Helps prevent vitamin B12 deficiency
- Helps prevent vitamin B12 deficiency for those at risk
- Pleasant tasting lozenge for enhanced absorption
- Flexible dosing options
Methylcobalamin is the active, coenzyme form of vitamin B12. Cyanocobalamin, the most common form of supplemental B12, must be converted first into hydroxocobalamin, and then into adenosylcobalamin, which is finally converted into methylcobalamin. Since cyanocobalamin has to undergo this extensive conversion process, supplementation with methylcobalamin is preferable, and it is also the specific form of B12 shown to support the brain and nervous system.
AOR’s Methyl B12 – 5 mg provides 5 mg in an easy to take lozenge making it ideal for those who have neurological conditions or nerve problems. Vegetarians, elderly people, those suffering from pernicious or megaloblastic anemia, atrophic gastritis, Celiac disease, Crohn’s disease or other types of inflammatory gastrointestinal disorders are at greater risk for B12 deficiency and may benefit from high doses of methylcobalamin.
